It’s great to find someone that enjoys MP and John Cleese as much as I do. My husband quotes sketches at work and people look at him warily as they back away.

I have a theory (no, not about the dinosaurs) that people either ‘get’ Monty Python and find them hysterical, or they don’t (in which case I classify them as dolts and have nothing more to do with them.) In my dating days, if a guy wasn’t as obsessed with their humor as I was, it was a deal breaker!

John Cleese was part of our British upbringing. I always liked his Ministry of Silly walks and the War department sketch…and the dead parrot.

I attended a professional development event at the university where I worked, part time then I’m sure. We watched John Cleese in the video “Meetings, Bloody Meetings.” Wonderful and to the point. Had to have been nearly twenty years ago.

The Student Affairs division had a sense of humor then and a VP whose pumps have never been properly filled. May she rest in peace.

I have in fact seen the Python episode wherein the blancmanges mean to win Wimbledon. (The scientist says so in so many words: “They mean to win Wimbledon.”) And they intend to do so by turning people into Scotsmen, who can’t play tennis.
