One of my favorite movies, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, has the immortal line: “This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.” The legend in that movie, of course, was John Wayne in one of his best roles.
Well, “the fact” here at Two Terrier Ranch is that John the Baptist — with the help of Louis, Felix, his father Felix Sr., Jesus and others — built a little man-made pond and waterfall that we call Lake Charles after our dearly departed founding terrier. But the legend is so much more fun. So a rough Redwood cover for the upper filter and pump became the shaft of the famous (at least in our minds) Lost Terrier Mine. Haven’t heard of The Lost Terrier Mine? Watch this video made by John the Baptist and meet the legend.
