We did pretty well bumbling through our first harvest from our tiny organic garden. We ate corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and melons all summer from it. In fact, this crazy garden doesn’t seem to know that summer is over. In fact, Fall is just about over. Which is good for me, because I picked a huge basket of produce intending to bring it back to San Francisco and share the wealth.
Then I promptly left it on the back steps of the barn where it was rotten when I showed back up a week later.

So this part of the harvest goes to the deer and foxes.
Hopefully there will be more when I head up there today.
We’re just lucky that Sonoma weather and growing conditions seem to favor the ignorant. Seems you can make every mistake in the book and you still have a good chance of getting something.
