Even after more than twenty years living in San Francisco, I’m still astounded at the great beauty of all the natural and open spaces we have just in this City (not to mention the many more just outside City limits.) I was struck anew when I took two stir-crazy dogs out today to Crissey Field on the Bay side of the Golden Gate for some much needed exercise. WARNING: The following photo essay contains more cute terrier pictures than is probably safe for consumption in one sitting. But if you are brave, let Oscar and Lucy lead you on a tour.

The first thing you must do when arriving is run out onto the sand and dance in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Then bark at the waves. You can actually chase them away from the shore. But they’re tricky. They keep coming back.

Then go into Homeland Security Mode and patrol the shore. Nope, no terrorists are getting ashore here!

Try to convince Labradors that their job is to fetch things that are too far out in the Bay for you to swim to.

Sister Lucy prefers to amaze the crowds with sedate Super Model poses.

While the camera has to stay in Shutter Priority Mode to capture Oscar.

Just remember to leave nothing but paw prints!
Super cute! & I’m with you on how amazing the Bay Area is
Aww… if I come to San Fran, can Oscar and Lucy take me on a tour? They seem to be pretty knowledgeable.
Terrier Tours of San Francisco leave from the Golden Gate daily! Bring your own squeaky ball.
OOh I want to go on a Terrier Tour, I have a squeaky ball as well. Oscar and Lucy are just too lovely for words.

That is adorable. Love the photos. Specially the last one. Your commentary made me giggle!
San Fransisco is simply beautiful!
Gorgeous – that would be THE thing for my dogs 🙂
King always went out and fetched trash swimming in the ocean and I put it in our bag to put it in the bin later (in Kuwait)
🙂
Warning well taken! Those were seriously cute doggie pictures!!!
