One of my favorite movies, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, has the immortal line: “This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.” The legend in that movie, of course, was John Wayne in one of his best roles.
Well, “the fact” here at Two Terrier Ranch is that John the Baptist — with the help of Louis, Felix, his father Felix Sr., Jesus and others — built a little man-made pond and waterfall that we call Lake Charles after our dearly departed founding terrier. But the legend is so much more fun. So a rough Redwood cover for the upper filter and pump became the shaft of the famous (at least in our minds) Lost Terrier Mine. Haven’t heard of The Lost Terrier Mine? Watch this video made by John the Baptist and meet the legend.
NOTE: For some reason recently, YouTube videos aren’t appearing or rendering correctly in Safari. Try FireFox where they seem to appear fine.
Beautiful and so refreshing! I will come back to this video when Sac hits the triple digits again… just to cool off. Wish I had a creek.
JtB needs to try to sell this as a series to the Planet Green channel. I would watch this over the Fabulous Beekman Boys anyday. Please consider my suggestion.
Happy Independence Day!
Ditto Ditto and DITTO on that Liberty Valence line. LOVE IT.
I’ll be a believer in the Lost Terrier Mine!
